open up a soda can at both ends and poke a hole, then stick the dongle in there.aparantly it works pretty good.or you could buy an aerial for it, i dont think they work very good, i get samish results with or without the 30 buck antenna

it doesn’t make sense to just boost the signal of the router and have the signal strength of the computer as weak as normally. Or in other words: What does it bring you if you can shout to a guy on the other side of town, if you can’t hear the answer?

I have found a useful tweak to the windsurfer design. Food service companies sell food pan covers made from a heavy aluminum foil. Very inexpensive, I paid less than 50 cents each. They are the right shape and size to make an extra-large reflector. Just cut some slits in them and attach to the center brace same as shown here. I get 1 or 2 db extra signal compared to the homemade Windsurfer design. Plus they are lighter weight and more durable than glued-on foil.

Does it work with just usb dongle, without actual antenna? I made one and nothing.

Imagine putting the 251 mw on there and putting those reflecters 2 different ways. Total epicness will occur.

PARABOLAS LIKE TO REFLECT THINGS.This is a great idea and it actually works, but that statement is incorrect. Aluminum is what is doing reflecting of the signal. Manipulating it into the shape of a parabola focuses the signal reflection into one general direction. It behaves somewhat similarly to the way a satellite dish works. That said, placing one of these on your wireless adapter (in addition to the router antenna) will yield decent signal quality and strength benefits.

Do you have to add one to each antenna or can you use it on just one?
